Addie is such a big girl!   She whole-heartedly believes she can do anything Ashley can do.  There is no doubt in her mind!  If Ashley does it, she has to do it too.  There has been a lot of dressing up, coloring, cutting (against Mommy’s wishes!), and good natured playing going on these past few weeks.

Addie said she wanted to see Santa.  We weren’t really sure how she would act.  When we first got there Addie was very stand offish.  While Ashley was talking to Santa Addie found a perfect little spot on the carpet to sit and watch.  She was finally brave enough, after Ashley showed her she could do it, to sit on Santa’s knee.  She tried really hard to smile.  After such great behavior we celebrated by going out to dinner.  Addie had a blast!

Addie is really enjoying the cold weather.  Well, all the different things she gets to wear because it’s cold outside.  She is very proud of her green coat.  She loves to put her hands in the pockets and walk around.  She also really loves her new hat and mittens. She almost refuses to go outside if she doesn’t have her hat and mittens, and sometimes she needs them on when she’s inside the house too!  We also had rain and was so excited the morning it was raining because she got to wear her raincoat.  Apparently when any one came in her classroom she ran over to show them her raincoat.   She was not so happy the next day when it wasn’t raining and she couldn’t wear it again.

Addie was a real trooper at Ashley’s dance recital.  She had been fast asleep when it was time to go.   She tried to hang in there until the very end.  She pretty much did.  Every time a new dance would start she would say (very loudly) “Where’s my sister?”   She had to wait a long time to see Ashley dance.  But once we were celebrating with ice cream Addie was the one with all the moves!   She put on her own dance recital in the ice cream shop!  Speaking of dancing, we have a gingerbread house set out that every time you push a button it plays music.  For the time being, after every one is finished with dinner both girls get to push the button one time and dance and dance and dance!  They love it!

Addie’s figuring out the whole Artie thing.  Ashley finds Artie first in the mornings, but Addie knows she needs to find him too.  She smiles and laughs every morning as soon as she spots him!  Every night she helps with the countdown to Christmas, but it’s really hard not to cut with the scissors.  So everyone watch out where you leave your scissors because Addie loves to find things and use them!

Addie is really enjoying the Christmas decorations, too.  The lights at night are one of her favorites.  She likes to look out her window at the neighbor’s house with lights before she goes to bed.  And she helped Daddy get our big Gingerbread Man out to the front of our house.  Now when we pull in the drive way she has to say, “Hello Gingerbread Man” or “Goodbye Gingerbread Man!”  She’s also really enjoying the Christmas books.  She gets upset if she thinks she hasn’t had enough read to her before she goes to bed.

Addie also had a great time having Breakfast with Santa!  She was very much into what all the other children were doing.  She sat very patiently and worked on her ornaments.   And, after watching Ashley play Christmas Bingo, Addie really got into it also.  Probably Addie’s favorite part of Breakfast with Santa was the fact she could reach the donuts!  She loves white powdered donuts!  She made several trips to the donut table!  She also loves the book Santa brought her.  She has barely put it down since she got it.  She wants to sleep with it every night.  When she goes to bed she likes to read her book to her animals and baby in her bed.  She has also been heard singing Jingle Bells to her friends in her bed too!  So cute!
