Addie had a fabulous Halloween! At school her class was learning about bones. The teachers made each child a skeleton shirt to wear for the school costume parade. Addie loved her shirt so much she didn't want to change for trick-or-treating. We joined friends for dinner and trick-or-treating that evening. The weather was perfect. Everyone had a great time together. Addie might have been at the back of the pack but that didn't bother her at all. She went up to every dog and said "trick-or-treat" all on her own. She loved it. She finally let her tiredness get to her and had to have help at the end of the night. By the time we got home she was definitely ready for candy.

Addie's greatest excitement for this month is all about pull-ups! This girl was so excited to go to the store to buy her pull-ups. When she got home she carried the box all by herself to her room. And that is a pretty big box! Addie was most excited to take a bath that night so she could put on a pull-up. And the next day she was so excited she changed her pull-up by herself 5 times, within 30 minutes! Even stopping long enough to put the "dirty" pull-ups in the diaper genie. Addie is a great helper!
At school Addie moved up a class with the older twos. She is really enjoying school. That was until right before our Thanksgiving break. On the Thursday before we for out for a week she was all dressed, bundled in her coat, but kept saying "no school. Stay home." she was like the rest of us, ready for a break. She likes to point out all the colors and shapes she sees. And she's learning more and more songs. The girl loves to sing! In fact one day her class was not cooperating with the teacher very well and her class was told to sit on the carpet to wait. All the sudden Addie broke out in song and all her friends followed along! The teacher was tickled Addie changed the mood of the class.
And the singing is not just at school. Addie prefers to wake up the family with her singing. Depending on her mood it might be Skideramarinidink, Hokey Pokey, Twinkle, Twinkle or Old MacDonald. "eieio" can be heard where ever you are in the house!
Every day on the way to and from school we pass a pasture of cows. And, every day Addie yells "Cows!" very loudly when she sees the cows. One day she yelled "Addie's Cows!". Apparently the cows belong to her now. We asked if the cows were Ashley's cows and she quickly informed us they only belong to Addie.
Addie is an eating machine lately. You know she's hungry if she starts acting out of sorts She loves to eat Mac & Cheese. She could probably eat the whole box if she was allowed. And the Halloween candy was a pretty bad influence on her. Everyday when we got home from school she would ask to eat candy from the time we walked through the door until she went to bed. She wasn't afraid to try new candy either. She was sad the day her jack-o-lantern ran out.
Addie was surprised when she got up one morning and the Halloween decorations were put away and a "peacock" was sitting on the table. Addie squealed and said, "Peacock! Peacock!". Apparently one of her classmates at school name begins with the letter P and a peacock is her symbol. (Addie is an apple.) So she's been referring to all the turkeys as peacocks. Pretty funny!
