Can you believe it?   We can’t!  Addie is now 2 years old!  She is such a joy and delight in our lives.  She gives the tightest hugs and the sweetest kisses.  She is growing up so fast!  She is learning so much from her big sister Ashley.  This time Addie decided it was her turn to help make the waffle batter for breakfast and no one else better get in her way.  She first went to get the step stool and then stirred and stirred and stirred!  She’s even drinking out of a cup without a lid with very few spills.  Oh my goodness!
Several days Mommy has pulled up to the day care when Addie has been standing at the window.  As soon as she sees Mommy she would start yelling “Mama!  Mama!” so loud you could hear it outside.  Then, she would quickly turn around and run to the other window in her class to watch Mommy come down the hallway.  She is always so happy to see Mommy in the afternoons.
Unfortunately, the week before Addie’s birthday she suddenly came down with an awful cough.  It didn’t take long for the doctor to diagnose Addie with croup.  Luckily we caught it pretty early and she didn’t suffer too long.  There were some rough nights, little appetite, but you would hardly know she didn’t feel well because she still had a huge smile across her face.
Addie celebrated her 2nd birthday with a very big day.  First, she went to American Girl with Aunt Ne to get her very own Bitty Baby.   Ashley has been very gracious sharing her Bitty Baby with Addie, but no more.  Addie was so excited to get her very own.  Just a day before Addie had been running around the house with Ashley’s Bitty Baby backpack, baby, and stroller; and, now she has her very own!   She has barley let go of her Bitty since she got back from her big adventure!
After a nice nap, Addie celebrated her birthday with a par-“tea” at 2!  She had just woken up from her nap so she was a little groggy at first, but she had so much fun playing games and having tea.  Addie was very happy that her friends even helped her open her presents.  When someone would pick out another gift to open Addie would say, “Present! Present!” And when she ripped the paper she would say “Oh!” and look up with the brightest eyes.  She was in complete amazement when every one was looking at her to sing Happy Birthday.  She watched everyone sing very closely and took it all in.   She did not want to blow out her candles, so Ashley and Mommy helped her out this time.  It was a wonderful day.
Addie spent a few days at Mimi and Willy’s house this month also.  She loved playing with the puzzles and a toy picnic basket.   She would take the plates and cups out of the basket only to put them back in.  She walked around with the picnic basket almost the entire time she was visiting.   At first she was a little hesitant about swimming, but then felt more comfortable.   She must have jumped into the pool at least 50 times in a row!
