Addie is quite the character these days! This month she has been up to all kinds of mischief and fun. We have been enjoying the wonderful weather and have spent a lot of time outside playing. Addie is becoming more comfortable riding with Ashley in their pink sports car and likes to put her feet up on the dashboard. She also has tried to stand up while Ashley’s driving, but Ashley knows to immediately stop driving when Addie does this!
Addie has also mastered climbing up the side of the play set all by herself. She prefers to have someone hold her hand while she goes down the slide. She is really enjoying discovering her independence.
Again, a big part of Addie’s week is always Wednesday night when we go to swim lessons. She is having a ball! We are working on transitioning Mommy out of the pool and for the most part Addie doesn’t seem to mind. And she is doing great doing the activities on her own on the island. Her favorite thing to do is ride on the duck and jump off at the end of the song. Every time the duck is put away she says, “Bye, bye duck” and waves.
At school Addie is transitioning up to the next class. She has a lot more friends in her class now. They keep the teachers very busy all day. She is learning several songs that she can almost sing on her own. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The Itsy Bitsy Spider are two of her favorites. She gets very excited when other people start to sing them upon her request. At school Addie's friends have taught her how to take off her socks and shoes. Her classmates frequently change their shoes! When she is getting dressed she says "socks" and "shoes" and point and claps when you put them on her feet. And as soon as she gets in her car seat she immediately starts taking them off! One Sunday she did her best to pull her tights off, but wonder why they wouldn't come off? And she has been known on several occasions to come out wearing either Mommy or Daddy's socks that have been left within Addie's reach! And Ashley has to watch out because Addie likes to put on Ashley's shoes!
Addie did a little traveling this month. She first made a quick trip to Leesville to help Maw Maw and Paw Paw celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Addie was very excited about the trip and didn’t sleep very much at all. Unfortunately, she was not feeling well during the party and had to leave. She didn’t even get a piece of cake. Now that is tired when a girl misses out on cake! Addie then made her way to Mimi & Willy’s house for Spring Break. More on that adventure next month!
