Addie is growing up so fast! Every day she does something new. Her vocabulary is expanding. When she wants to she can say lots of new words but she consistently says boo, shoe, Ashley; but, her favorite words right now are five (for “give me five”), apple, and uh-oh.
Addie loves to play with puzzles! She particularly likes to take all the pieces out of the puzzle, but can’t quite get all the pieces back together. She spends a lot of time looking at each piece and then manipulating them on top of the puzzle, but the pieces just don’t get in the right place. It won’t be long until all the pieces come together.
She loves music. She likes to sign Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes and Old MacDonald Has A Farm. Making all the animal sounds is really fun! And she absolutely loves to read books. Her favorite book right now is the farm lift the flap book and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. She finds it all the time to carry with her around the house. No matter how you are sitting, Addie will come up to you with a book and some how find a way to sit in your lap or on you so you can read her a book.
At school her class is learning to work together. Can you imaging a group of 1 year olds building a tower? They have also worked together to make a house out of shapes. At school Addie gets very excited when she sees Ashley playing outside on the playground. The girls both jump up and down and shout each other’s name. And Ashley’s class loves it when Addie comes to Ashley’s room at the end of the day. All the children start saying “Baby Addie! Baby Addie!” Addie also likes to use the scoop at the water table and often has to change her clothes because she gets too wet! One day she put a tambourine under her arm, a hat on her head, went towards the door, turned around and told every one “bye, bye!”
When Ashley and Mommy were decorating the house for Halloween Addie was a great help. Any time Ashley put something down Addie would immediately move it some where else. It was difficult to get everything put out! While Ashley & Mommy were busy working we heard Addie yell from Ashley’s room. We discovered Addie standing in the middle of Ashley’s table! Oh my! We had a great visit at the Dallas Arboretum with cousins Henry & Emma. Now to bring on the treats of Halloween treats!
